How To Monetize Your Blog

Happy Sunday loves! I'm finally back after almost two weeks. It's the hardest thing trying to make multiple posts each week, especially since I'm doing my utmost best to ensure my posts are top quality, and quality posts means QUALITY TIME. However, I'm here to quickly share with you a few decent ways you can monetize your blog. I'm no expert, but I've had many aspiring bloggers and new bloggers contact me as it relates to not just monetizing their blog, but also tips on starting and growing one. As a result, I'm going to start posting blog tips at least twice per month, so feel free to email me with anything you might want to see me share. 

Back when I created my blog shortly before Christmas in 2010, I had no idea that it was something I could make money from. It was not until maybe late 2012, as I learned more about blogging and its benefits, that I realized I could earn a little extra cash through a combination of ways. The following means through which I earn a blog income is some of which I highly recommend as I have obtained good results. Some I just started, and some I've been using for a very long time. I will share more, as well as my thoughts on each, as I continue this series in the coming weeks. 

Linqia: 
I just started Linqia a month ago when a blogger friend of mine recommended it. I wasn't big on blogger networks, but it really is a fun way to create fun and engaging content for your readers, especially when you may have run out of post ideas. With that said, Linqia is an amazing free influencer platform. How it works? After you apply and get accepted, Linqia will email you with any sponsored posts offer they believe is a good fit for your blog. You have the choice to accept or decline the offer. If you do accept, you will need to follow the relevant guidelines required for the blog post. It's that simple. My first campaign I did with the Linqia Network was for U by Kotex, and the team was always there and willing to assist with any questions or concerns I had. You get paid per click, so you'll have to put in the extra work to ensure that your readers and social media followers really click that link. You can sign up for Linqia here, and I highly recommend you apply.

Google Adsense:
Google Adsense was the first platform I signed up with to earn an income from my blog. Adsense is Google's content-targeted advertising program. You simply add the code to your sidebar, header, or wherever you prefer the ad to show, then Google provides an ad that is relevant to the content of your blog/site. When a reader clicks on that ad, Google records that click and you get paid for it. Though Adsense is way easier to set up, it does take some time to make decent cash, especially if you don't have a lot of traffic (this is true for beginners). In order to cash out as well, you would need to earn $100, which does take a while. My advice: Experiment with the placement of your ads, build a following so that you can attract high traffic, and don't expect immediate results. 

Skimlinks:
Skimlinks is an affiliate marketing service that partners with a few affiliate networks (so you don't have to apply to them all yourself). You install a code on your blog which allows Skimlinks to search for any product link in your posts, which they then turn into an affiliate link. This means that if somebody clicks on your link and makes a purchase, you make a commission. So simple yet so effective. 
Just so you know, Skimlinks gets a percentage of your earnings, though not much. If you have a problem with this, you may be better off joining single affiliate networks which means you will have to insert your own affiliate links yourself.
