Graduation Day: What I Wore

Finally, the graduation post! First of all, congrats to anyone who has graduated or will be graduating. I attended my graduation last week Friday, and just decided to share my outfit details to help out just in case you need a little inspiration. And if you're wondering, I graduated from The University of the West Indies with a BA in Integrated Marketing Communication.

Outfit Details
Dress: Boohoo | Shoes: Forever 21 | Earrings: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Rings: Forever 21 (similar)

On to the deets! So it was required that we wear a white dress/pants suit and a pair of black shoes. Hunting for the perfect white dress is not the easiest thing to do, and it sure gets harder when you really really need it soon for a special occasion. I had in mind the dress that I wanted, but me being so indecisive as always, spent months going back and forth before making a final selection. Eventually I settled on this scuba midi dress from Boohoo. The cut, the pleats, and its overall simplicity won me over, since I'm not so big on anything too crazy for a graduation. Apart from the fact that it made me look a little preggo, I was pleased with the quality and fit.

Shoe shopping has always been my biggest problem here in Jamaica. It's so difficult to find a size 5/5.5, so I ended up express shipping this pair from Forever 21 a week before my graduation (thank God for technology and super fast courier services!). As I stated in my graduation tips post, comfy shoes are ideal for an occasion like this to prevent your feet from getting too tired, since you may have to stand for long periods, or to prevent you from tumbling over. These were only 4 inches, so they were super manageable and comfy. I ended up accessorizing with some items I already had, like this pair of earrings from Charlotte Russe that have been laying around, a diamond bracelet I wore to my high school ball, and some of my favourite go-to dainty rings from Forever 21.

Overall it was a great day, but I'm so glad that leg of the journey is over.
