There are so many strong and independent women I've come across in my lifetime who inspire me - my aunts, my cousins, my friends, my teachers, and even bloggers. High on that list is of course, my  mother, my ultimate hero. We hear it all the time - 'my mother is my hero' - and without a doubt, mothers all over the world possess superpowers that makes you wonder how on earth do they do what they do.

My mother has always been my hero, my best friend, and the most selfless person I've ever come across. If I could write a book on the may different ways she has inspired me, it would be never-ending. She's capable of extraordinary things, and is the most hard-working woman I know. Throughout my life, she has taught me and my family the true value of hard work, motivated us to go the extra mile, sacrificed every bit she had just so that we could have. When I look back at all she has done and continues to do, my heart swells. I will never take for granted all that she has done for me and how she has shaped me into the woman I am today.

I'm sure many of you who view your mom as your hero can admit to the fact that a mother and daughter's bond can never be broken. Looking back, it's funny when you thought your little misunderstandings were the end of the world, but today she's your greatest friend.

I couldn't be more excited to team up with Annie Leibovitz for her new exhibition - WOMEN: New Portraits to showcase the everyday female heroes in our lives. WOMEN: New Portraits is based on her book, 'Women', a book of portraits made in collaboration with Susan Sontag in 1999, accompanied by an exhibition at the Corocan Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Launched in London in January 2016, the UBS x Leibovitz collaboration continues to explore the changes in the roles of women today. The tour will travel to ten host cities over the course of twelve months including London, Tokyo, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico City, Istanbul, Frankfurt, New York, and Zurich.

Who's your hero?  I'd love to know! All you have to do is submit your own story by posting a picture of your hero on Instagram and use the hashtag #ShareYourHero and tag @USB. I'd love to see your stories about the lovely lady in your life that inspires you, so feel free to tag me as well - @ashleighemblog.

By sharing your hero, you are entered for a chance to win a trip for two to New York City to visit the WOMEN: New Portraits exhibition in November, and for a chance to meet famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.

So get going. Let's acknowledge our heroes and let them know how much we love them!
